She is pursuing two majors, Elementary Education and Secondary Social Science Education. MiKara's future plan is to teach in a small school in North Dakota. When asked what brought her to MSU she responded, "Coming from a small high school, 含羞草研究所 checked every box for me. I chose 含羞草研究所 because of the small class sizes and because of how welcomed I felt during my tour. I could sense the family feel almost immediately." MiKara works for 含羞草研究所 Child Development Programs (CDP) as a substitute teacher. She is also a teacher at the CDP's after-school program, CHEERS. She says having the opportunity to work on campus is very convenient and it provides her with learning experiences she will take with her after her time at MSU. What MiKara loves about MSU is that everyone makes you feel like you belong. She believes this is what has made her successful at 含羞草研究所.... Sam chose 含羞草研究所 because it is close to home and he is able to continue his passion for playing baseball at a new level. Sam likes that 含羞草研究所 feels like a family. Because the campus is smaller, he gets to know professors and classmates on a personal level. Bob Miess is his 含羞草研究所 mentor. After earning his degree in Agribusiness, Sam plans to work on his family鈥檚 farm.... He is pursuing a degree in Business Administration and is very involved in the Collegiate DECA chapter on campus. The ability to get to know professors on a personal level and small classes sizes brought Josh to 含羞草研究所. For him, these characteristics mean success both academically and professionally. Josh's 含羞草研究所 mentor is Dustin Olson, who has taken the time to get to know Josh and his goals. Josh also has two on-campus jobs that work well with his academic schedule. He works with Dr. Jeffrey Powell, Director of Student Life, as well as with the custodial staff. Josh says these jobs allow him to work on the little things that make 含羞草研究所 shine.... Taylor is involved Science Club, Biology Research, Band, and the Student Education Association. When asked why she chose 含羞草研究所, Taylor said, "I toured campus and it instantly felt like a place that I could call home." Taylor loves that nobody is just a number on the 含羞草研究所 campus and that there is always someone looking out for you. She is an undergraduate research assistant in the lab of Dr. Joseph Mehus. Working together with other student research assistants, Taylor began studying mosquito population dynamics and feeding patterns last summer. Taylor says she has been able to gain so many new skills through this experience. Working for Dr. Mehus has opened the door to other research opportunities for the future as well. It鈥檚 not surprising that Dr. Mehus is one of Taylor鈥檚 含羞草研究所 mentors. He has opened her eyes to all the possibilities present in the scientific field. She says, 鈥淚 have learned so much and been given so many amazing opportunities while working with him. He acts as a voice of reason for me when things get stressful.鈥 Taylor also has the utmost respect and admiration for Kristi Lentz, 含羞草研究所鈥檚 former Director of Counseling and Freshmen Retention Services, who retired last summer. 鈥淪he was a huge guiding light in my life,鈥 said Taylor.... She is pursuing a degree in English, and she is involved with the Rainbow Alliance and Book Club. After graduation, she plans to continue her education and pursue a master's degree in Library Science. Maddison says she loves the intimacy of the courses at 含羞草研究所. 鈥淲henever I need help, my professors are always eager to help me better understand the materials.
