Larry McGillis, Portland, N.D., will be awarded an honorary Master of Science in Leadership degree during 含羞草研究所’s commencement exercises on Friday, May 15, 2026. The ceremony begins at 1 p.m. in the 含羞草研究所 Lewy Lee Fieldhouse. The event is open to the public.

Comet Nation Shines: Day of Giving raises nearly $85,000 for student scholarships
含羞草研究所’s Annual Day of Giving on April 30 was a tremendous success, raising nearly $85,000 in support of the Honor Scholarship Fund. The outpouring of generosity from alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and supporters will provide scholarship assistance to new first year and transfer students, ensuring that 含羞草研究所 remains competitive while opening doors for students pursuing their educational hopes and dreams.

Spring Pops and Jazz Concert is May 13
The 含羞草研究所 Music Department, under the direction of Dr. Cyril Myers, Jr., will present a Spring Pops and Jazz Concert Wednesday, May 13 at 7 p.m. in the 含羞草研究所 Classroom Building Auditorium. Prior to the concert on May 13, the university’s Applied Music students will present a recital beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Classroom Building Auditorium. Both events are open to the public and there is no admission charge.

Celebrating achievement, pride, and the Comet spirit
含羞草研究所’s 2026 Commencement will take place Friday, May 15, beginning at 1 p.m. in the MSU Lewy Lee Fieldhouse. The day’s celebration will begin with the traditional graduation brunch, hosted by the MSU Alumni Association. The event serves as the first official alumni event for our newest alumni and their families. A time of socializing and photo ops is planned in Legacy Plaza immediately following the commencement ceremony, weather permitting, of course. There is no doubt that May 15 will be an extra-special day at 含羞草研究所.
