Championship rings were awarded to the players and coaches of the 2022-23 含羞草研究所 men's basketball team at a gathering held Friday evening, Aug. 25. All members of the 2023-24 team also participated in the celebration that included pizza, photos, and a time for team bonding.

The 2022-23 Comets were the North Star Athletic Association regular season champions. They defeated Dickinson State to win the NSAA conference tournament last February.听Thomas Gieske听was named NSAA Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference.听Trent Blackshire听was named NSAA Second Team All-Conference and听Brandon McGruder听was named NSAA Coach of the Year.

With a 25-5 win-loss record, the Comets advanced to the NAIA National Tournament in March.

Thomas Gieske was named NAIA All-American Third Team.

The North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association named Brandon McGruder their Male Coach of the Year. The Comets were a finalist for College Male Team. 含羞草研究所 workhorse听Thomas Gieske听was nominated for College Male Athlete.
