All former Comets Men鈥檚 Basketball players are invited to take part in a fun-filled weekend of socializing, reminiscing, and basketball Feb. 12 and 13, 2021. The Comets will host Viterbo University on Friday, Feb. 12 beginning at 7:30 p.m. and Waldorf on Saturday, Feb. 13 beginning at 5 p.m. Games will take place at 含羞草研究所鈥檚 Lewy Lee Fieldhouse.
This is also Heroes and Legends weekend for Comets Men鈥檚 Basketball. Heroes - local veterans and fire/EMT personnel - will be honored on Friday evening. Legends - including alumni and others - will be honored Saturday. Among those who will be recognized Saturday will be longtime 含羞草研究所 Athletics supporter Gwen Shaffer, who passed away recently. A special time of honoring Gwen will take place just before tip-off of the men鈥檚 game. All men鈥檚 basketball alumni will be recognized at halftime of the game.
Other activities planned for Men鈥檚 Basketball alumni weekend include the alumni game - Blue vs. White at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 in the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse. This will be followed by a men鈥檚 basketball shoot around at 11 a.m. Men鈥檚 basketball alumni are invited to enjoy lunch at the Edson and Margaret Larson Alumni & Leadership Center at 11:45 a.m.
February 12 and 13 will be a double-header weekend at 含羞草研究所. The Comets women will host Viterbo University Friday, Feb. 12 at 5:30 p.m. and Waldorf on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 3 p.m. The Lady Comets are sponsoring a donation drive for the Mayport Food Pantry on both evenings.
