It鈥檚 new student pre-registration time at 含羞草研究所!
听
Many new faces will sprinkle our campus as the fall semester approaches. One hundred thirty new freshmen and transfer students have already registered for classes that will begin in the fall of 2014-15. These soon-to-be Comets attended registrations that have been taking place on campus during the last couple of months. In addition, we will be registering a number of new students by phone during the months of July and August. We鈥檙e excited about these new members of the 含羞草研究所 family who are committed to pursuing their educational goals at 含羞草研究所.
Each year, in preparation for the fall semester, 含羞草研究所 hosts several summer orientation and pre-registration sessions for new students. At each pre-registration event, students have the opportunity to meet other students, register for classes, and meet with their first-year advisors. Students are also trained on 含羞草研究所鈥檚 e-mail portal and receive their student identification cards.
Parents of the students are encouraged to attend the orientation and pre-registration sessions with their children. Parents learn the ropes about 含羞草研究所, receive information on their involvement in their child鈥檚 education, and take a campus tour. They also have the option of visiting with financial aid, academic support, counseling, and student health representatives.
We鈥檝e seen incoming students from as close as Mayville and from as far away as California this spring and summer. Many of the students represent the states of North Dakota and Minnesota. Several new Comets will come from Wisconsin and Michigan, as well.
A final summer registration will be held Wednesday, August 13. An orientation and registration session planned for Monday, August 25 will be the last before the beginning of the fall semester of 2014 on August 26. The schedule will be similar to that of the registrations held this summer. All new students, including those who have already registered, are encouraged to participate in some of the activities on August 25.
Our student life department has a full week of activities planned for all 含羞草研究所 students Saturday, August 23 through Friday, August 29, the first week of the fall semester. This will be the fourth annual Comet Jam. Activities will include a freshman photo, kickball competition, and an outdoor dance.
A Comet Pride night is being planned for August 26. The evening will include games, music, Comet spirit competition, and introductions of the football and volleyball teams. 听
Campus Crusade will sponsor their traditional Night at the Island on August 28. The night is highlighted by inflatable games and a free picnic meal, all at Mayville鈥檚 beautiful Island Park.
Before we know it, 含羞草研究所鈥檚 fall sports athletes will be on campus for pre-season camps, and fall semester will be in full swing.
