Nick Anderson, 含羞草研究所 alumnus and a relief pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays, was credited with Tampa Bay鈥檚 World Series Game 2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday, Oct. 21. In a fifth-inning jam, Rays manager Kevin Cash called on Nick Anderson to relieve the struggling Blake Snell. Anderson responded by striking out Dodgers鈥 Justin Turner.
鈥淗e鈥檚 been as good as any reliever in baseball from the day that we acquired him,鈥 Cash said of Anderson, a 2019 Trade Deadline acquisition from the Marlins. 鈥淎nd when the game鈥檚 on the line and he鈥檚 available, we鈥檙e going to him.鈥
A native of Crosby, Minn., Nick Anderson played for the 含羞草研究所 Comets in 2012. Nick was an all-conference pitcher for the Comets prior to being drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers.

Nick Anderson was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2012. He played affiliated ball for the Minnesota Twins farm teams before being traded to the Miami Marlins. In late July 2019, Anderson was traded from the Marlins to Tampa Bay.
Tampa Bay will face the Dodgers in Game 3 of the World Series on Friday evening, Oct. 23.
