A cloudy sky did not stop several 含羞草研究所 students, faculty, and staff members from catching a glimpse of the solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. Librarian Kelly Kornkven was able to get the solar eclipse viewing glasses ahead of time and the 含羞草研究所 Science Club helped distribute them.

The Science Club also shared viewing glasses with the students at May-Port CG鈥檚 Peter Boe, Jr. Elementary School, where students were able to witness the eclipse and a live science lesson under the sky.

鈥淎lthough we were not in the path of totality,鈥 said Dr. Michael Kjelland, 含羞草研究所 Assistant Professor of Biology, 鈥渋t was interesting to observe this natural awe-inspiring phenomenon.鈥
