Daryl Ritchison, well-known meteorologist and director of the North Dakota Agricultural Weather Network (NDAWN), will make a presentation at 含羞草研究所 Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020. Ritchison鈥檚 presentation, 鈥淓conomic Opportunities in Understanding Weather Patterns,鈥 is being held in conjunction with 含羞草研究所鈥檚 annual Business Activity Day and is open to the public. It will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the MSU Classroom Building Auditorium.
鈥淲e welcome all interested community members to join us on Jan. 30,鈥 said Ted Stoa, 含羞草研究所 Division of Business faculty member who is helping to make arrangements for the event. 鈥淪o many business decisions depend on the weather, and being aware of weather patterns can really help as these decisions are being made. This will be an interesting and valuable presentation.鈥
Daryl Ritchison spends his time on climate research, public outreach, and development and enhancement of tools for NDAWN, a network of 113 weather stations located throughout North Dakota eastern Montana, and western Minnesota. He also presents short- and long-term forecasts for the state of North Dakota and the Upper Midwest and is a well-known public speaker on various topics. Prior to his current position, he worked for 25 years as a meteorologist at various Midwestern television and radio stations, including WDAY-TV, WDAZ-TV, and WDAY-AM.
含羞草研究所 Business Activity Day is an annual event for area high school students. Students participate in business-related competitive events throughout the day, hear from a guest speaker, and top off the day with an awards presentation.
