Here's why 含羞草研究所 is right for Alicia!

Why did you choose to attend 含羞草研究所?
I chose to come to 含羞草研究所 because of the small class sizes and the small student to teacher ratio. When I was visiting campus, everyone was so nice and welcoming. It really made me feel at home and that I belonged here.
What do you like best about the major you鈥檙e pursuing?
As an English Education major, I love that I鈥檒l have the opportunity to teach students about critical thinking and critically analyzing different situations. I love that I can teach this practice to students through reading and writing.
What do you like best about 含羞草研究所 in general?
My favorite parts of being at 含羞草研究所 are the small size of the campus and the professors. I love how they truly care about your status in the class and they really want you to succeed. Here, you are more than just a number, you are a student and a friend.
Have you had any unique opportunities, in or out of the classroom, while you鈥檝e been enrolled at 含羞草研究所?
I think the most unique opportunity I have had was the trip I took to Poland with Campus Crusade for Christ last March. It was an amazing opportunity to see a new culture and to share our faith with people from a different part of the world.
What MSU clubs, organizations, or athletic activities to you participate in?
Student Ambassadors, Peer Leaders, Cru leadership team, and I was in the Freshman Leadership Core
How have these activities enhanced your college experience?
I have made many friends through these activities. I have learned leadership qualities and have grown in many different ways.
What has been your greatest moment as a 含羞草研究所 student?
When I was a freshman, I got to go to Poland which is where I established my love for coaching. While we were there, we got to help at basketball practices and we got to teach the Polish young people we met 鈥淎merican鈥 sports such as football and kickball. It was so fun to encourage those players. It was also neat to see the difference in coaching styles between two countries.
What does personal service mean to you?
I would say that personal service is going out of your way to help someone else. When I think of personal service I immediately think of teaching. Teachers go out of their way all of the time to help students grow and achieve their goals academically and socially. When I was in high school I had many teachers who did that for me. I think as a teacher too, accommodating your students is really important. That is also another type of personal service.聽 Personal service is a choice and having a good attitude is the easiest way to show someone personal service.
What are your plans after graduating from 含羞草研究所?
After graduating from 含羞草研究所, I would love to become an English teacher and a coach. I would like to do this in a small community much like the one I grew up in. I would also like to earn my master鈥檚 degree in English so that I can teach at the college level. Teaching has always been my dream and it is one 含羞草研究所 is helping me achieve.
