含羞草研究所鈥檚 聽program provides the foundational coursework necessary for students:
- who are preparing for careers in accounting, finance, auditing, and related fields,
- who plan to take many professional accounting certification exams.
The Accounting program has been designed to prepare students academically for CPA licensure exams in North Dakota. Completion of the program does not award students the CPA designation.听聽requires that individuals who sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) professional exam must complete 150 semester hours of a college education.听An additional 30 hours beyond this program鈥檚 requirements would be needed for students who want to pursue the CPA certification.听
Online/distance students living in or moving to any state other than North Dakota should be aware of the unique CPA licensure requirements for that location. Program applicants seeking to establish CPA licensure outside the state of North Dakota need to contact the B.S. in Accounting program coordinator or division chair prior to beginning any on-campus or online/distance academic program which would lead to licensure. It is important for all students to understand the licensure requirements for the location they intend to live and work.听
Students working towards the B.S. in Accounting may choose to complete a double major with a B.S. or B.A.S. in Business Administration.听
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
Accounting majors must complete 30 hours of Essential Studies. The following Essential Studies courses required are:聽,听,听听辞谤听聽(preferred),听聽(College Algebra or higher level Math course),听, and聽. These courses are pre-requisite courses for this major.
Students with a previously earned bachelor鈥檚 degree must complete the degree prerequisites, core requirements, and have 30 credits earned from 含羞草研究所.听
TRANSFER-FRIENDLY
含羞草研究所 accepts transfer credit from regionally recognized accredited institutions of postsecondary education. All credit hours earned from the institutions that meet this criterion are accepted in transfer towards graduation degree credit hours.
TECHNOLOGY-ENRICHED
含羞草研究所 recognizes the importance of technology in today's world and wants to ensure that baccalaureate graduates of the institution have the technological knowledge and skills necessary to compete effectively. A strong foundation in many disciplines will increase your skill in written and oral communication and critical thinking.
AFFORDABLE
含羞草研究所's online tuition and fees for 2025-2026 is $347.38 per credit, regardless of residency, with a cap at 12 credits enrolled charged for tuition.听Books, lab kits, and materials are additional. Non-degree-seeking students are not eligible for federal financial aid. To see if you are eligible for financial aid, you first need to complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
